For questions about BIOF-M multi-tank, the answers are all here!

    BIOF-M Multi-tank System Questions & Answers

    Due to the modular design of the BIOF-M series fermenters, it is the perfect choice for multiple fermenters. With the gradual introduction of BIOF-M multi-system fermenters into the market, many questions have also arisen, and this article will be used to answer customers.

    Question 1: How is the multi-tank system connected?

    Answer: The BIOF-M multi-connection system is similar to building blocks, combining functional templates with chassis and tanks. The parameter monitoring electrode line of each tank is connected to the chassis, and a switch is connected to each chassis through a network cable for data transmission and control. One of the chassis is equipped with a 14-inch HMI for total control.

    Question 2: What is a bus?

    Answer: A bus is a structural form describing electronic signal transmission lines, a collection of a type of signal lines, and a common channel for transmitting information between subsystems. Through the bus, the information between the components in the whole system can be transmitted, exchanged, shared and logically controlled.

    Question 3: What kind of control network does the BIOF-M multi-connection system use?

    Answer: At present, in the field of industrial control, industrial Ethernet technology and industrial fieldbus technology are the most widely used. Based on the product’s strength, applicability, and real-time, interoperability, reliability, anti-interference, intrinsic safety and other needs, our BIOF-M multi-connection system has selected a very influential industrial Ethernet bus technology. Siemens PROFINET protocol .

    In the multi-connection system of the fermenter, the bus switch is the medium for data transmission of all the chassis. The CPU inside the switch will form a MAC by corresponding the physical address (MAC) to the port when each port, that is, each chassis is successfully connected. surface. In future communications, data sent to this address will only be sent to its corresponding port, not all ports.

    Question 4: What are the advantages of Ethernet bus design?

    Answer: ① The switch has a high-bandwidth internal switch matrix and a back bus, and all ports are connected to the back bus. Through the internal switch matrix, the data packets can be directly and quickly transmitted to the destination chassis instead of all the chassis. , so that network resources are not wasted, resulting in very high efficiency;

    ②The security of data transmission is very high;

    ③ The data bandwidth of the switch is exclusive. In the same time period, the switch can transmit data between multiple chassis.

    Question 5: Can multiple BIOF-M single tanks be used in parallel?

    Can the BIOF-M multi-tank system be split into single tanks for use?

    Answer: Before answering this question, two of the particularities of single-tank versus multi-tank systems need to be known:

    ①The single-tank system is equipped with a 10-inch touch screen, and the multi-connection system is equipped with a 14-inch touch screen. This size is fixed according to the system and cannot be changed;

    ②The single-tank system has a built-in exchanger, while the multi-connected system also needs to add an external exchanger for data transmission.

    How a single tank can become a multi-tank: The customer has purchased multiple BIOF-M single-tank systems, and hopes to change it to a multi-tank system in the subsequent use, which requires professional engineers to come and refit, and add a 14-inch touch screen for the multi-tank system. Master control, data transmission with an external switch.

    How the multi-connection system becomes a single-tank system: After purchasing the multi-connection system, the customer needs to replace it with a single-tank system, and needs to contact the professional engineers of Bioreactek™ to add a 10-inch touch screen to each chassis, cancel the external exchanger, and replace the Some lines were rebuilt.

    To sum up, according to the different needs of different customers, the BIOF-M series can be flexibly applied, but it must be operated by professional engineers.

    Question 6: What is the difference between the multi-system function interface and the single-tank function interface?

    Answer: The main control interface of the multi-tank is shown in the figure below. The main parameter data of all the tanks will be displayed on the general interface, which is convenient for monitoring.

    Answer: It is necessary to perform detailed parameter control or other functions individually, and the specific single-tank manipulation interface can be expanded as shown in the figure below.
